2019 Users of LG TVs Can Now Get to the Apple TV app

With software changes, the company added Airplay 2 and HomeKit to LG TVs last year. Now, the company announced last month that it would add an Apple TV app with full features, such as video clips from iTunes and full access to the Apple TV+ service. The app is already available for 2019 OLED TVs and high-end LCD TVs. Other LCD models (UM7X and UM6X) can expect it this month.

With the release of the app, users no longer have to buy an Apple TV or use Airplay to watch movies and shows from Apple in Dolby Vision HDR. Last year, people with Samsung Smart TVs could use the app. This year, it’s coming to screens that are much bigger. The app will be on the 2020 LG TVs after they come out, and those with 2018 models will get it this year through a firmware update.
