Spotify Warns Apple Watch Users Not to Upgrade to WatchOS 9

Apple launched the WatchOS 9 upgrade for Series 4 or above models on September 12, 2022, including improvements such as a medicine management app, new running metrics, updated sleep-tracking data, four new watch faces, a revamped dock, an AFib (Atrial Fibrillation) History Tool, and more. In addition, WatchOS 9 has a problem that prohibits users from streaming Spotify on Apple Watch.

As a result, Spotify advises WatchOS 9 users not to install it. They’ve noticed that after upgrading the Apple Watch to WatchOS 9, the Spotify app’s streaming fails when you open it. The problem appears after a minute of playing the music via the Apple Watch.

Many others all around the world are dealing with the same problem. This problem occurs on Apple Watches with both WiFi and cellular connections to networks.

Apple has stated that the WatchOS 9.1 upgrade, which has already been delivered to beta developers, would be delayed. We might expect Apple to deliver a rapid update to remedy the issue, similar to iOS 16.0.1 on iPhone 14.

The Spotify app’s tracks have not been affected by the problem. As a result, consumers may download their favourite music to their Apple Watch and listen to them offline. They can also listen to their favourite songs on their iPhone.
